Greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories measure an organization’s emissions, within a defined boundary.
Inventories are typically conducted annually and consist of three scopes. Scope 1 & 2 include emissions from direct operations and purchased utilities, and scope 3 includes upstream and downstream value chain emissions.

A plastics manufacturer was requested by a key customer to report to CDP Climate Change for the first time.
Having never completed a GHG inventory before, the company engaged with PSC team members to conduct their first scope 1 & 2 inventory, screen scope 3 impacts, and develop a plan for inventorying key scope 3 categories the following year. PSC team members also trained staff on how to update their inventory independently in the future.
Completing their GHG inventory enabled the client to confidently report emissions externally and begin strategic reduction efforts.

PSC experts helped the client select a robust carbon neutral certification scheme and conducted a product carbon footprint to evaluate the GHG emissions associated with select packaging types.
