Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas Accounting

Tailoring an approach fit for a Fortune 200 company

As a Fortune 250 company with 16 operating companies at the time of the first assessment, quantifying upstream and downstream emissions required a tailored approach. The resulting inventory established a foundation for Danaher Corporation's first public disclosure of Scope 3 emissions in 2025 and continues to inform Net Zero planning for their Science-Based Target.

Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)

Integrating custom sustainability attributes for a Fortune 100 company

PSC developed customized Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs) for Dell’s carrying cases in alignment with ISO 14067, accounting for unique sustainability attributes: a responsible solution dyeing process and the incorporation of recycled polyester fabric. This case study highlights the results of the study and PSC’s approach to customized PCFs. All PCFs were critically reviewed by an external third party according to ISO/TS 14071.

Comparative Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

Supporting ‘climate solution’ claim via the Exponential Roadmap Initiative (ERI)

PSC’s critically reviewed ISO 14040 and 14044 compliant study found that Beyond Steak® Plant-Based Seared Tips generates 84% less greenhouse gas emissions compared to pre-cooked beef-based steak tips. This study supports the claim that Beyond Steak is a ‘climate solution’ through ERI, which is defined as a product that contributes to emission reductions at a global level by producing significantly lower (at least 50% less) emissions than the weighted average of current market options.
